2010 Winter Olympics at N.A. Walbran Elementary School

During a physical education unit based on the Winter Olympic Games, K-6 students participated in activities that closely mirrored those of actual Olympic events.  The students were able to gain a better understanding of how the events worked and the specific skills that the athletes practice to become highly successful.  At the conclusion of the Winter Olympics Unit, all students received an Olympic Gold Medal Certificate.  Students participated in the following events:  Freestyle Ski and Snowboard Jumping, Ice Hockey Shoot-Outs and Game Play, Curling, Downhill Slalom Skiing, Short Track Speed Skating, Luge and Skeleton.
