• The Oriskany Central School District held a District-Wide Safety and Security Community Forum on May 23 at the Jr./Sr. High School.


    Parents of students in grades K-12, school staff and other interested community members were invited to attend the forum which included a comprehensive presentation of the District’s school safety management program and a panel question and answer session. The primary focus of the presentation, led by Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES Supervisor of Safety and Core Services Joseph Mueller, was to address school safety concerns; safety preparedness; student, staff and parent training; emergency response and effective communication.


    Immediately following the presentation, parents and community members had the opportunity to ask questions to a panel that included Muller, Oriskany Superintendent of Schools Timothy Gaffney, Director of Facilities Mark Santomassino, School Resource Officer Wayne Griffith, School Security Officer Robert Allen and Oriskany Police Sgt. Michael Colangelo.
