Two notes about the Flat Stanleys that were sent out:

    1. Please convey to your host families to hold off on sending the Flat Stanleys back to the school in April.  I will keep you posted on a new return date.

    2. Due to many places being closed for being non essential, please let your host families know that whatever they choose to send back is fine. One family said they could not get any trinkets or postcards.  That is ok!  In the past, the students have loved to see pictures of their Flat Stanley in the different enviroment-on a tractor, in the snow, in the sand, watching a movie, playing a game, on a bike, etc.  and some sort of narrative is so appreciated!

    Thank you!

Tuesday, March 31, 2020  Today we went for a drive!  It was so nice to get out the of house.  Now, the DeFabios are awesome, but we have been spending a little too much time in the house together.  So Mrs. DeFabio suggested a drive in the late afternoon.  We didn't get out of the car, but it was nice to see the blue sky, and birds, we even saw some geese!  When we got back, we did something called FaceTime-we were able to talk to people, but not have to worry about being near them.  It was great!  All in all, an awesome day!  Love, Flat Stanley

Monday, March 30, 2020  Hello!  We were so busy today!  First thing we did was deliver work packets to the students houses-it was so neat to drive in Mrs. DeFabio's car!  I don't think the students knew I was in the car, with Apollo, but it was nice to get out and drive around! In the afternoon, I watched a little TV while all 3 DeFabios did some work.  Then after dinner we had a card game challenge-we played a game called Rummy.  I didn't know all the games you can play with just a regular deck of cards!  I hope we do that again-it was fun!  Love, Flat Stanley

Friday, March 27, 2020  Well, today was an adventure-not for me but for Apollo!  The DeFabios decided that he needed a bath, so into the tub he went!  I sat on the counter and watched the situation unfold.  At first he just sat in the tub, but then of course he tried to get out-mulitple times!  They did a pretty good job of keeping him in the tub, and when it was over, they took him out and he SHOOK!  We all got pretty wet!  Mrs. DeFabio did the best she could with drying him off, and when they opened the door, Apollo went flying out!  I am not sure how often they give him a bath, but I hope they don't have to do that too often!  Love, Flat Stanley

Thursday, March 26, 2020  Wow, 62 degrees  today!  We went for a great bike ride today-it was so nice!  We took some time to get out some of the patio furniture to enjoy for hopefully some good weather that might come up.  I did help Mrs. DeFabio put together a learning packet for each of her students-I guess they will be sent home so all her students can work.  She got a papercut-ouch-but I was a champion-no papercuts!  (Wood fingers come in handy again!)  Love, Flat Stanley

Wednesday, March 25, 2020  If I had to give today a theme, I would say it was arts and crafts day!  Samantha had this project called a latch hook kit that she began a few months ago and put aside.  So she pulled it out and worked a lot on it-she even let me help pull some of the pieces of yarn through the canvas!  Mrs. DeFabio did some work on her cross stitch project-that looked more challenging, so I was just an observer.  Let's see what tomorrow brings...  Love, Flat Stanley

Tuesday, March 24, 2020  Today was a low key day-we did have a Mexican Train Domino tournament!  It's a game that the DeFabio family play every once in awhile and keep score, so I helped everyone with their turns, since they started this tournament a few months ago.  Mrs. DeFabio had me help her with that 500 piece puzzle-at the rate we are going, it will take us 500 days to finish it!  Love, Flat Stanley

Monday, March 23, 2020  Wow, snow!  Mrs. DeFabio told me that it might snow, and when I reminded her it was spring, she said that this sometimes happen!  We played in the snow a bit, (well, I did with Sam while she shoveled!), and then we played a board game called Payday-it was fun!  Sam ended up winning, but I came in second place-now you know who came in last-but she was okay with that.  Love, Flat Stanley

Friday, March 20, 2020  Today was such a nice day to get outside!  This morning we went for a bike ride-it was so warm!  This afternoon we had a dance party. and for dinner it was make your own pizza night!  We are settling down for some family TV time...  the fresh air was so good, I might fall asle...........

Thursday, March 19, 2020  Today we melted chocolate and coated pretzel rods with it, then put sprinkles on them.  What a great treat!  Then we went out in the yard and picked up a lot of sticks!  Well, the 3 of them picked up sticks-I was only able to carry a few small twigs!  Hopefully tomorrow we will get a chance to play a few games.  Maybe Mrs. DeFabio will teach me Ten Frame Fun......

Wednesday, March 18, 2020  So today Mrs. DeFabio pulled out a 500 piece puzzle!  I am not sure how much help I can be with my wood fingers, but I will try!  I will let you know how long it takes us to do it!

We also spent some time doing the Wii. The family even made ME as a character on the game!  We love the bowling game-Mr. DeFabio beat us every time!  Samantha likes to play basefall, but we are not that good at it.  We finished with a round of tennis-I was the champion at that game.  Take care!  Love, Flat Stanley

Tuesday, March 17, 2020  Happy St. Patrick's Day!  For breakfast, we had green eggs-they weren't actually that bad!  Today we watched an amazing movie-Frozen 2!  We all loved it so much!

Samantha plays the drums and flute, so we listened to her play all her music-she is really good!

Tomorrow Mrs. DeFabio said we will make banana bread-I have never had it, but it sounds delicious!  Love, Flat Stanley

Monday March 16, 2020  Well, here I am at the DeFabio house for what seems will be quite a while!  Today Mrs. DeFabio had me help her with a lot-we cleaned out a closet, and shredded a lot of unneeded paper.  But we also went for a long walk, and baked some cookies!  (Don't tell Mrs. DeFabio but I ate 2 when she wasn't looking!)

More tomorrow...  Oh, she wanted me to share that all of the students paper Flat Stanleys went out in the mail last week, so I am sure each of them will have quite an adventure when they are sent back to school.  Love, Flat Stanley
