Welcome to N.A. Walbran Elementary School

  • Dear Students, Parents/Guardians and Community Members,

As this newsletter comes to you, I hope everyone has had a wonderful spring recess! Even though our Pick a Reading Partner (PARP) program -- “Choose Your Own Adventure and READ” ended in March, we hope you are still finding time to “pick a reading partner” and continue reading with your family.

The month of May is here and it’s another busy month at N.A. Walbran Elementary School! Our Elementary Band and 3rd Grade Recorder Recruitment Concert took place on May 2 and our fourth through sixth grade chorus performance of the musical “Space Pirates” will take place on May 31. Our Sixth Grade Plant, Bake Sale and Silent Auction took place on May 10 and 11. Thank you to everyone who came to visit us in the cafeteria on those two days to support our 6th grade class fundraising event for their end-of-the-year experience.

We will also be having our 6th Grade Moving Up Ceremony on June 18 at 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

Please watch for information being sent home and posted on our website regarding summer opportunities available for our elementary students at N.A. Walbran. We will be hosting a technology camp for students entering grades 4-6, ABC Boot Camp for students entering kindergarten, and our library will be open once a week for all elementary students to check out books and will also include a story time.

Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten registration packets for the 2019-20 school year are now available at the elementary and Jr./Sr. high school office. Screenings for all pre-K and kindergarten students will take place at the end of May and beginning of June. Please contact the elementary office or visit our website if you have questions regarding pre-K or kindergarten registration, or if you need to sign up for a screening time.

Continue to check out our district website and my Facebook page (“Oriskany Elementary Principal”) for photographs and articles of all our events.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at any time.
