Mrs. Nugent

Mrs. Nugent most recently worked as a pre-school special education teacher for the Promise Program through the Kelberman Center. While working as a special education teacher, Mrs. Nugent also worked as the Director for Awesome Summer Days Camp through the Kelberman Center. Her job entailed working with children with autism and creating a fun and meaningful summer fostering lifelong friendships. Mrs. Nugent also worked at Vernon Verona Sherrill middle and high school as a Behavior Specialist Assistant with a student with autism for four years. Mrs. Nugent graduated with her Masters in Teaching Students with Disabilities as well as minoring in Multiple and Severe Disabilities. Mrs. Nugent graduated from Utica College in 2009 with a degree in Childhood and Special Education. She holds a New York State Teacher Certification in First to Grade Six for both General and Special Education. She also holds a New York State Teacher Certification in Multiple and Severe Disabilities. Mrs. Nugent could not be happier to be a part of the N.A. Walbran Elementary Staff. “I am devoted to meeting individual student’s needs by utilizing positive reinforcement strategies to encourage each student to become lifelong learners.”
